In The Grace Walk Part 1, I introduce the topic of the Grace Gospel. I share about performance orientation and having your focus on the wrong person (yourself).
In The Grace Walk Part 2, I describe how you are forgiven and continually cleansed from sin, so your focus ought to be on thanksgiving rather than on your failings.
The Grace Walk Part 3 – The Blessings of Grace
We know as believers that our sins were forgiven when we accepted Jesus into our hearts. But … do we really know all the other blessings that came through the finished work of the cross?
If we are focused on ourselves with constant introspection, often filled with guilt as we make mistakes and stumble, then we will not have our eyes on the prize, Jesus. I am learning through my Grace Preachers listed below that God has also given us much to be thankful for beyond salvation. We have a life here to live that is filled with blessings and provision from God; a life that manifests as we walk in faith believing it all to be true.
The Gift of Righteousness
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are given His righteousness. This means our standing before God is perfect. This is not something that we earn, it is given to us because of Jesus’ perfect obedience, so we can’t earn it nor can we lose it; otherwise it would be earned righteousness.
The Gift of Favor
When we come into God’s family, He favors us. This is actually the definition of grace – the unmerited favor of God. He will do things for us out of His heart of kindness, love, and compassion, not because we work hard, have a quiet time, read our Bible, pay our tithes, or behave correctly. God favors us simply because we are His kids and because Jesus did the hard work for us. When we believe we are favored, we will see increasing measures of the manifestation of this favor in our lives.
Freedom from Strongholds
I am on a journey of understanding this – especially for Tune the Temple. Jesus purchased freedom and it’s a done deal. “Why do I still struggle then?” you may ask. I believe it is because the freedom has yet to be manifested in your life. You are accustomed to walking the old path of dependence on food and these habits and mindsets are engrained. But Jesus! He came to set the captives free, including captives of food attachment; including you! Part of the key here is to believe that your freedom is purchased and in the bank, so to speak. Begin to proclaim that you are free from food attachment, regardless of what you see. Call forth the Normally Thin Eater inside of you. Believe in the finished product before you see the evidence. Walk in faith, in other words, that Jesus has purchased this healing for you. Remember He paid a high price for it, so I imagine it blesses Him when we walk in faith. Believe it to be done and ask God to manifest it in your life.
