Would you like to come where I am going? Come follow me as I forge new horizons of freedom in the Eating-Weight Struggle! I created an Online Class for those who would like to tackle this issue.
As we were skiing yesterday, my creative friend Sue came up with yet another great idea! We took this picture to illustrate the concept that you can indeed develop a new way in your life… if you fall in behind someone who is going ahead and forging the way for you. You can develop a new track! Just as cross-country skiing is easier when you follow someone else’s tracks in the snow, developing a new lifestyle in eating can be easier when you follow someone who is living it.
Our life easily becomes habitual, full of patterns and habits that may not be that great for us. I call that life, The Rut-Way. A groove is set over time as we continue to follow a pattern of destructive behavior and we follow this way without much thought or effort. BUT, thank God, we also can create new patterns and habits that become grooves in our lives as we practice them faithfully. I call this The Risk-Way.
The Risk-Way is not for the fainthearted. It is challenging, costly, and requires some effort. But the results are worth every cost because of the outcome of freedom!
It is often easier to develop The Risk-Way when you have someone who is leading you to new insights, thoughts and patterns; when someone has dared to try something new and found it to be successful. I have been walking this life now for 10 years and I am so grateful for the freedom Jesus has brought into my life! I am grateful for the peace, the lack of struggle, the not-needing-to-be-in-control over this issue any longer.
Finding freedom in Eating does NOT mean that you are more in control! It means it has become a non-issue. How much control does it take to not smoke? Avoiding smoking requires no control for me as it has never been a temptation or an issue. It is a non-issue. Likewise, the eating-weight struggle can also become a non-issue if you dare to challenge your thoughts and behaviors of your Rut-Way and follow the tracks of a new way, The Risk-Way.
Allow me to set up new grooves in your life. Get in step (or in slide, as in skiing!) behind me. I’ve gone ahead of you and done a lot of the work. I can share insights and mindsets and behaviors of The Risk-Way that have worked for me and others. Are you willing to dare to develop new tracks this year in 2010? Contact me if you would like to be a part of this Online Tune the Temple Class.
